Artemis Owl Systems is the independent research and systems practice of Will Corbett.
My background is in enterprise platform architecture and large-scale reliability — the work of keeping real systems legible, dependable, and defensible as they grow. Artemis Owl applies that discipline to the layer where AI now meets production: the seams between models, tools, policies, and consequences. As software shifts from conversational endpoints to autonomous, agentic workflows, the standard infrastructure paradigms break down. The work published here is about what replaces them.
The practice is organized around four pillars, each carrying part of the owl:
- Trust — the watchful eyes. Explicit boundaries, policy engines, provenance, and runtime evidence, so a system can show what it did and why.
- Semantics — the pinecone. Ontologies and contracts as living, version-controlled structure, so systems and models share one reality.
- Inference Engineering — the night flight. Context brokerage, semantic caching, and dynamic routing that treat execution as a governed operational layer.
- Middleware — the branch. The mediation and control layer where multi-step work stays legible or breaks down.
The writing here stays close to real operating conditions because it is drawn from a working ecosystem of projects: some published as public repositories, some presented as briefs while the source stays private, and some still in the workshop. Field notes and artifacts come from that build work, not from commentary.
